MayaEPC operates https://mayaepc.co.uk (the “Site”). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information we receive from users of the Site.
We use your Personal Information only for providing and improving the Site. By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information Collection and Use
While using my Site and when you have purchased services, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to your name (“Personal Information”).
How long we retain your data
All EPC providers use information taken about your property for the purpose of creating an Energy Performance Certificate which is stored by the Government for 10 years. UK gov privacy policy extract shown below with links to full policy.
As part of the government’s move to make more data publicly available, the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) has enabled greater access to data from Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for domestic and non-domestic buildings and from Display Energy Certificates (DECs) for public authority buildings in England and Wales.
This information is available on an individual basis meaning that EPCs and DECs can be viewed online at an individual property address level. The data is also available in bulk form.
In 2017, the government decided to widen access to the data on a bulk access basis to anyone who wanted to access it, subject to the terms of a copyright notice. This was in addition to the existing access to individual property details via the Energy Performance of Buildings Register.
The decision regarding which data items are free to access reflects considerations made as part of the privacy impact assessment.
Your rights over your data
You can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us during provision of services. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Data about your property for the production of an Energy Performance Certificate will be sent to (1) Elmhurst Energy for EPC calculations (2) UK Gov website for the registration of your EPC.
(1) Elmhurst Energy supply the EPC software that calculates the energy performance of your property based on the information that we collect during my assessment and this is used to produce the certificate.
(2) UK Gov retain a register of all EPCs and keep a copy of the property EPC for legal purposes. No personal information is sent, only energy performance data related to your property is submitted.
